Join our 2018 Cross-VT relay team!

Cross-Vermont 2018

We are thrilled to announce our 4th official Run for Refuge: The 2018 Cross-VT Run for Refuge!

Come join us!

We need four groups of two to join us on this 90-mile relay run along the scenic Cross-Vermont trail. Grab a friend and come join our team!

We run because we like to, but not everyone has a choice. Millions of uprooted people are on the run as refugees, and we want to support them.

The impact.

All run fees and additional donations will be donated to the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program and other organizations that support new Americans.

Race details

WHEN:  Saturday, October 20th, 2018. Register by September 15th

WHO: Groups of 2 runners. Each runner must be:

  • 16 years or older
  • Able to drive
  • Able to run 10 miles
  • Able to bring a car to the race

COST: The event fee for each runner is $100. Fee for late registrants (after 9/15), is $120 per runner. Runners are also asked to encourage their friends and families to donate as well using our GoFundMe donation link.

THE RUN: This run (it's not a race!) will take place on the 90-mile Cross Vermont Trail, a trail made up of woods trails, roads, and sidewalks that begins in Burlington and runs horizontally across Vermont to the New Hampshire border.

Each group of 2 will be responsible for running 20 miles total. They will be given a map of their section and will begin at their own checkpoint.

Before groups go to their checkpoints, all groups will meet in Burlington Vermont at the start of the trail to kick off the run as a whole team with a pre-run celebration.

Then, each group of two will head off to their checkpoints along the trail. The first group-member will start their leg while the second group-member drives along the route, cheering on the runner and providing support. When runner #1 is finished, runner #2 will start their leg of the run.

Groups will be provided will be able to divide their total mileage between themselves in whatever ways they would like to (10 miles and 10 miles, 15 miles and 5 miles, 8 miles and 12 miles, etc.)

Once each group has completed their 20 miles total, they have finished their part of this awesome team effort!
